Caldecott Medal Winner
Noah's Ark
by Peter Spier
Summary
Based on the biblical flood, this nearly wordless book opens with a seventeenth century Dutch poem and then tells the whole story of the ark through detailed pictures of animals boarding, the long voyage, and the crowded daily work of caring for the creatures. Peter Spier fills each spread with tiny human and animal details, mud and mess and humor, that reward close looking and a slow read. His fine pen and watercolor work captures both the vast scale of the flood and the small comic moments aboard the boat.
