Caldecott Medal Winner

One Fine Day

by Nonny Hogrogian

Summary

A greedy fox drinks an old woman's milk and loses his tail to her knife, then must run a chain of bargains across the countryside to earn it back. Nonny Hogrogian paints the Armenian folktale in warm, glowing oils, framing the fox's frantic errands against soft hills and rustic homes. The cumulative tale teaches cause and consequence while celebrating the persistence it takes to set a wrong thing right.
